The C.K.G. Billings Amateur Driving Series will have action in both the midwest and eastern regions over the next few days. On Sunday, June 15 one six-horse midwest division will be contested at Balmoral Park in Crete, Ill followed on Monday, June 16 by two eastern region splits at Yonkers Raceway.
Headlining the Balmoral contest is last years Billings Points Champion, Steve "You're Never Too" Oldford, a sales rep by trade from Crosswell, MI, and his trotter Eng-Amer Bobby, who won the most Billings races last season.
That day too, former Amateur Driver of the Year, auto baron "Trader Bud" Hatfield from Columbus, Ohio will make his seasonal debut. That contest also showcases two Battling Billings ladies; Michelle "the Belle" Ruvola, a VP in corporate planning from Naperville, Ill., and Patricia "the Write Stuff" Miller, a writer by profession from Williamston, MI
The following day two Billings splits will be contested off the card at Yonkers Raceway with a 6pm and 6:15pm post times
The first division pits last years eastern region point champ Todd "the Downeaster" Whitney, a concrete master from Auburn Me., against Dave "Yes It's True" Offenberg, a business executive from Marlboro, NJ., currently second on the east region leaderboard.
Also in that split is Eric "the Driving NYC Fireman" Taddeo from Warwick, NY and the embroidery king from Whitestone, NY , Tony "the Capo" Verruso.
The second division features Sussex, NJ Dairy Queen owner, Terry "the Dairy Queen" Donnelly, and Paul "the Coach" Minore of Yardville, NJ whose most famous pupil was Olympic Gold Medalist, Carl Lewis.
Also in that split are NAADA president and Kew Gardens, NY attorney, Smokin' Joe" Faraldo; gastroenterologist , Scott "the Driving Doctor" Woogen from Mechanicsville, Va.; and George "the Brooklyn Cowboy' Casale , an attorney from Brooklyn, NY.
