Bold Eagle (5m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet) easily won today’s Gr. II Prix Louis Jarel (purse €120,000, 2175 meters volt start, nine entrants) at Paris-Vincennes, his first appearance after breeding season, for harness racing trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Pierre Pilarski.
The winner was bred by Jean-Etienne Dubois and was timed in 1.10.8kr.
12.8/1 Bolero Love (5m Love You-Orelady) was two lengths beaten second for Gabriel Gelormini, trainer Guarato and owner Antonio De Sousa. Ecurie D bred this one. Third was 50.1/1 Billie de Montfort (5f Jasmin de Flore-Quismy de Montfort) with David Thomain up for Guarato and owner/breeder Philippe Dauphin. 9.7/1 Baltic Charm was fourth for Eric Raffin and 2.7/1 second choice Bird Parker was fifth, reportedly affected by an injury.
Bold Eagle waited near the back early and circled opponents for an easy win without requiring driver Nivard to urge him on.
Billie de Montfort rallied nicely to be third behind Bolero Love.
Baltic Charm also closed well in the late going.
The fractions were steady (1.10.6 at 1500 to go; 1.12kr at the 1000; 1.11.7kr with 500 remaining) with a quick final 500 to finish in 1.10.8kr, as noted above.
