January 31, 2016 - The 7/10 favorite Bold Eagle (5m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet) took a two-length victory in today’s Gr, I International Prix d’Amerique (purse €1,000,000, 2700 meters, 18 International starters) for Franck Nivard and trainer Sebastien Guarato.

Pierre Pilarski owns the youthful winner that lowered the race record to 1.11.4kr set by Royal Dream of 1.11.9kr.

The top five today were timed in 1.11.6kr or faster.

Timoko (9m Imoko-Kiss Me Coulonces) was a game second for Bjorn Goop and owner/trainer Richard Westerink at 5.3/1 odds.

A half-length back in third was Oasis Bi (8m Toss Out-Up Front JM) superbly handled by Pierre Vercruysse that benefited from a favorable journey on the pegs behind the leaders at 60/1.

Fourth was 19/1 Akim du Cap Vert for Franck Anne and 5/1 Moses Rob ended fifth for reinsman Pierre Levesque.

Solea Riveliere was sixth with Bird Parker (another son of Ready Cash) seventh.

Well regarded Univers de Pan ended ninth, Un Mec d’Heripre 10th, Mosaique Face 12th, Support Justice 13th and last year’s winner Up And Quick faded to 14th after a battle with the leaders around the final bend.

Lionel, Athos des Elfes, Viking de Val and Tiego d’Etang were disqualified for going off-stride.

Back in the locker room after his success at Bold Eagle sulky in the Prix d'Amérique 2016, Franck Nivard book a lucid analysis.
