Harness racing 3/10 favorite Bold Eagle (5m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet) overcame a 25 meter handicap to easily win today’s Prix des Sables-d’Olonne clocked in 1.11.3kr (mile rate 1:54.72) over his 2800 meter journey (1.74 miles).

Eric Raffin was again at the lines for trainer Sebastian Guarato, owner Pierre Pilarski and breeder Jean-Etienne Dubois.

Bold Eagle scored his 25th win in 28 starts, now for career earnings of €1,948,300.

21.5/1 Akim du Cap Vert (6m First de Retz-Prima du Cap Vert) took second for owner/trainer/driver Franck Anne with 9.4/1 Baltic Charm (5m Passwrod-Ilikova) home third for Matthieu Abrivard and trainer Guarato, owner St. Szwarc and breeder Jean-Philippe Dubois. 9/1 Alderman and 41/1 Beau Gamin were next.

Bold Eagle was away alertly in the bulky field and eventually secured a pocket position where he remained until the final turn.

Then he rapidly accelerated to the front and drew off.
