Columbus, MN – The Sunday evening (July 29) Harness Racing program at Running Aces featured 3 year old Minnesota-Sired trotters in action, with two divisions of the sophomore square-gaiters.
The $8,500 colts & geldings division went to Bringoverthemoney (Rick Magee) who has absolutely dominated the 3 year old trotting scene in Minnesota this year, the Money Talks gelding out of the Overcomer mare Bring it over has now won 7 races in 11 trips to the gate, with 6 consecutive wins. Bringoverthemoney ($2.20) is trained by Brian Detgen for owner Jasmine Horvat, and was bred by Katrina Horvat.
He seems to get better and better with every win, and has just lowered his lifetime mark to 1:57 with the 6 ¼ length victory on Sunday. Bringoverthemoney appears to be poised to continue to roll through the next six or seven weeks and looks well on his way to the Minnesota Championship races on September 15.
The $8,500 fillies division of the 3 year old trot went to Dekker, the dominant filly of 2018, she is a daughter of Braggart and is out of the Muscles Yankee mare Caffeine Freak.
Dekker (Rick Magee) was bred by AL-Mar Farms and is trained by Justin Anfinson for owners Jesse, Eric and Ben De Long. Dekker picked up her third win in a row while lowering her lifetime best by two full seconds, to 1:58.2 for her sixth win of the season in 8 starts.
The $10,000 Winners-Over pace went to Bettor's Promise (Lemoyne Svendsen) who had a rough, overland trip in the $50,000 Dan Patch FFA final last week, and bounced back with a very impressive gate-to-wire dominating win tonight in 1:51.4 with a strong final stanza of 27.3.
Bettor's Promise is a 7 year old gelding by Bettor's Delight, he is trained by Jessie Pacheco for owners Richard Morita and David Yamada and he now sport's 7 wins in 24 starts this year with $38,122 in the bank.
THe 7 year old Revenue gelding Margin Call trotted up a storm from the back of the pack in the $5,600 conditioned trot to pick up his second win of the season in 1:58 for trainer/driver Rick Magee. Margin Call ($16.20) turned in the fastest trotting final quarter of the night with his 28.4 signature closing kick.
He is owned by Mikaela Delgiudice and was bred by Paretti Farms. The victory on Sunday pushed his career earnings to $72,059 with 16 career wins and 41 top 3 performances from 76 starts.
Rick Magee led the night off with a sweep of the first three races on the program, while Mooney Svendsen also picked up a Hat-Trick and James Yoder and Gerald Longo both picked up doubles on the card.
Live Racing returns to Running Aces on Tuesday evening (July 31) with a carryover of $6,413.29 in the 20 cent Jackpot Pick-5 wager. First post on Tuesday is 7:00 pm CDT.
