Harness racing driver Bruce Ranger has suffered a broken pelvis and fractured lumbar vertebrae as the result of an accident in the third race at the Isle Pompano Park Monday night.

Three drivers were unseated from their horses, Bruce Ranger, Bryce Fenn and David Ingraham, but only Ranger needed to be taken to the hospital, both Fenn and Ingraham were OK as were the three horses involved in the accident.

Ranger will now be sidelined indefinitely. He is Pompano Park’s all time winningest driver with 8,732 career wins, most of them coming at Pompano Park.

There is just two weeks left to the end of the Pompano Park meet and in an earlier article Ranger said he was not going to ship any horses north and stay at home in Pompano Beach this summer. Looks like that was the smart move as he will need the time for a long recovery from his injuries. This is not the first time that Ranger has fractured his vertebrae in a driving accident.
