The Buckeye Stallion harness racing series continued this week at MGM Northfield Park when the 2-year-old colt trotters raced at MGM Northfield Park.
Two of the colts are now Leg 1 and Leg 2 winners. Timestorm (Stormin Normand – Tymal Sonata) won Leg 1 at Eldorado Scioto Downs on July 2nd and won Leg 2 July 10 th at MGM Northfield Park.
He was in Race 7, driven by Charles Taylor with a new lifetime mark of 1:58.2. He is trained by Kent Hess and owned by Ted Boschma (MI). Herecomescharlie B (Full Count – Jetterbug) also won in both Leg 1 and 2. He was the winner of Race 9 making his lifetime mark of 1:57.2 with driver Ryan Stahl.
He is trained and owned by Dan Venier (Pemberville, OH). Both colts have won all three starts they have raced so far this year.
Kurt Sugg drove three Buckeye Stallion Series winners in races 2, 4 and 11. Bold Strategy (Break The Bank – CC Cupcake) was the Race 2 winner, finishing in 2:00.3. He is trained by Kurt Sugg and owned by Rebecca Sugg (Polk, OH), Watson Harness Racing (Tiffin, OH) and Kendall Stucky (Tiffin, OH). Race 4 was won by Willing Spirit (Southwind Spirit – Mac’s Dream) in 1:58.3.
He is trained by Jeff Cox for owner Michael Soehnlen (Dalton, OH). The final Buckeye Stallion Series winner of the evening was Klubot (Full Count – Callmepinkalicious) in the eleventh race. Marty Wollam (Vienna, OH) trains and co-owns the colt with Dr. Scott Leaf (VA).
The next Leg for the 2-year-old colts will be at the Champaign County Fair (Urbana, OH) on August 6th.
The Buckeye Stallion Series continues July 16 th at Eldorado Scioto Downs with the 2-year-old colt pacers.
