Bugsy Malone (5g Ready Cash-Night Captain) took a front-end journey toward a seven length harness racing victory in today’s Gr. III Prix de Provence (purse €85,000, 2700 meters voltstart, seven starters).
The Philippe Allaire trained and owned speedster was reined by Yoann Lebourgeois to the 1.11.9kr score.
Christian Simon bred the winner that was the 0.5/1 favorite.
19/1 A Nous Trous (6m Orlando Vici-Quallas) took second for Eric Raffin with 3.6/1 Specialess (5m Ganymede-Enna Dra) home third with Franck Nivard up for trainer Fabrice Souloy and Italy’s Ecurie Nevi.
The fractions were steadily swift (1.11.1kr at 1500 meters to go; 1.10.2kr at the 1000; 1.11kr at 500 remaining).
