Veteran harness racing trotter Bugsy Malone (8g Ready Cash-Night Captain) overcame a 50-meter handicap to easily win the Prix de la Ville de Caen (Gr. III, 65,000€ purse, 4400 meters distance handicap, International 17 starters) at Hippodrome Caen, clocked in 1.14.6kr.
 
Yoann Lebourgeois teamed by Philippe Allaire owned and trained class-master that was bred by Christian Simon. The win raised Bugsy’s life earnings to 856,630€.
 
He defeated Copernis de Play (7g Giant Cat-Orelie des Play) that was reined by breeder/owner Franck Blandin. Third home was the 25-meter handicapped Ange de Lune (9g Laetenter Diem-Kera Elle) with Matthieu Abrivard up, he the trainer/owner. Estola, Nancy America and Vainqueur RP were next to the line. Highly regarded Looking Superb finished ninth, Ble du Gers was unplaced and Valakaja Hindo was a dq.
