Veteran harness racing class master Bugsy Malone (g Ready Cash-Night Captain) took today’s 12th leg of the Trophee Vert Series on the turf (purse 45,000 euro, 3400 meters voltstart, distance handicap) as he overcame a 50 meter penalty to score decisively for reinsman Yoann Lebourgeois and owner/trainer Philippe Allaire.
Bugsy recorded career victory 25 in 45 starts now for 699,560 euro earned. He was off as the 5/10 punters choice. 7.7/1 Blackaro (7g Quaro) was second for Francois Lecanu and 63/1 Alexis Jisce (8m Memphis du Rib) was third. Well-regarded 25 meter handicapped Utile Lebel was sixth and Bebert Express finished 10th. Race time was not reported.
At Enghien was the Prix Henri Cravoisier (purse 85,000 euro, 1609 meters autostart, 11 starts all three year olds). The 1.11.7kr timed victory went to 1.6/1 Follow You (3m Ready Cash-Mara Bourbon) with Matthieu Abrivard up for trainer Yves Boireau and Scuderia Bivans Srl. Ecurie Dream With Me bred this one.
The 32/1 Fric du Chena (3m Nobody du Chene) was second with Gabriele Gelormini up and 4/1 Fifty Kalouma (3m Ready Cash) took third for Clement Duvaldestin.
Fend La Bise (3f Prince Gede) was fourth for Franck Anne and 53/1 Ferreteria (3f Goetmals Wood-Avenue Victoria) ended fifth for Jean Pierre Dubois.
The winning time was well off the three year old record for the distance of 1.10.kr set by Royal Crown in 2008.
