Seven harness events will be among a huge 23-race program this Sunday afternoon (March 16) at Cranbourne's tri-codes extravaganza.

Now in its seventh year, the unique racing event will also feature eight thoroughbred and eight greyhound races with the first of the day set down for 11.50am (AEST).

eadlining the harness racing action is the $20,000 Bruce Skeggs Trotters Cup (2585m) which has drawn a small, but intriguing field of eight.

roup 1 winning duo Whatsundermykilt and Viva La Fever, fourth and fifth respectively in the Seelite Inter Dominion trotting grand final on March 1, share the 40-metre backmark.

hilst facing an imposing challenge on paper, they have class and history on their side with A Touch Of Flair overcoming a 50-metre handicap to claim the Group 3 at the same venue last year.

AB Sportsbet have the pair equal favourites at $3 with locally-trained front marker Pepperell Dancer, a last start Maryborough winner, next best at $4.40 ahead of Viva La Fever's stablemate Sunana Asset, who is rated a $7.50 chance from 10-metres behind.

rainer-driver Ross Graham will be eager to make a winning return to the sulky behind Dullard Cup winner Viva La Fever after being forced to watch his Inter Dominion campaign from the grandstand with a nasty arm infection.

ikewise, visiting Kiwi trainer Kevin Fairbairn will be just as keen for success with Whatsundermykilt after winning the Cup two years ago with his stablemate and half-brother Glenbogle.

he Bruce Skeggs Trotters Cup is the sixth harness event on the tri-codes program and is timed to go at 4.05pm.
