Caballion (8m Kesaco Phedo-Lady Brick-Super Arnie) in rein to Bjorn Goop, for trainer Franck Leblanc, took  today’s Gr. I UET Masters Series Broline Copenhagen Cup.

Timed in 1.12kr over 2011 meters autostart, the chestnut veteran earned 750,000 Danish kroners ($138,000 US) with the win, his first 2014 victory in six starts.

Owned by Caballion AB and T. Martensson Invest AB, Caballion moved early and ranged alongside then leading Uncle Peter and driver Johnny Takter who vacated the pocket and led in the first lap. Uncle Peter and Caballion battled around the final bend as favorite Solvato staged a three wide challenge from far back but he could not reach the leaders until it was too late.

Caballion was rough gaited in late stretch but Goop held him together for a length victory. Orali (8m Great Challenger-Action Elpin-Buckfinder) rallied late for Jeppe Juel to be second as did late closing Magic Tonight (5m Andover Hall-Miss Possessed-Self Possessed) that gained third for teamster Orjan Kihlstrom. Solvato ended fourth ahead of a tiring Uncle Peter. Early leading Mosaique Face made a miscue early.

The Copenhagen Cup was the seventh race of the V75 that paid €1,077,889 to one lucky ticket holder. The V75 turnover exceeded €3.45 million.

Earlier in the card US import Chocolate Day (3m Chocolatier-Day For Night-Donerail) won the opener for Bjorn Goop in 1.15kr over 2000 meters autostart.

A race later Sharpshot Hall (4m Deweycheatumnhowe-Sexpot Hall-Conway Hall) won for Jeppe Rask in 1.14.2kr over 2000 meters autostart. The four year-old open over 2000 meters autostart, race six on the card, went to Christian Lindhardt handled Tano Bork (4m Great Challenger-Frederikke Bork-New Quick) in 1.12.8kr. Rodeo Drive OK (by Conway Hall) was second for Pietro Gubellini with Dream With Me NL (by Dream Vacation) third. US entry Corky (4m Muscles Yankee-Clarice Marie-Balanced Image) was parked most of the way in the death seat and held well for a game fourth.

Another US import, and Bjorn Goop steered, winner was Magiccarpetride (8m Angus Hall-Meadowbranch Victory-Valley Victory) in 1.13.2kr over 2000 meters autostart  in race eight.
