Iconic Kiwi trainer Barry Purdon was on Tuesday inducted as the twenty second Caduceus Club of Victoria at the annual Hunter Cup Barrier Draw Luncheon.

Purdon follows in the footsteps of his legendary father Roy who received the award in 1999 and they join other father/son combinations of George, Brian and Neville Gath and Graeme and Gavin Lang as winners of this highly prestigious award.

Barry Purdon who has previously won Hunter Cups with Vic's Vance and Surprise Package is hoping the week will climax with his nine year old Pembrook Benny being victorious in Saturday night's big race.
