It was a career night for young harness racing driver Brett Crawford on Wednesday (May 23) at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

The 25 year old up-and-coming reinsman piled up three winners on the card, two of which he trains. The Green Knight (Bettor’s Delight) broke his maiden in convincing fashion as Crawford moved him out to the early lead and the three year old stepped off to a dominant six length victory.

The maiden win for the Crawford trainee came in an eye-popping 1:55.3. Brett then piloted claiming trotter Hitachi (Sir Taurus) to a convincing win of his own, swooping the group and stopping the timer in 1:59.4. Crawford then completed his driving triple while catch driving Sweetie’s Secret (Yankee Glide) for conditioner Kevin Gould.

The hat trick was the first in the young career of the rising star and surely won’t be his last.

Live racing continues on Thursday night at the Spa with an eleven race program that begins at 7:05pm.
