CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Being put on top at every call by the "Blue Knight" was the ticket to the harness racing winner's circle for Carracci Hanover in the Saturday night feature event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Jason Hughes engineered the winning trip in the $2,400 preferred pace sending the Jennifer Trainor trainee to the front from the word go with fractions of 28.1, 56.4 and 1:25.4 en route to a 1:55.1 victory. Ashley Wood of Cherry Valley holds the ownership papers of the six-year-old bay son of Somebeachsomewhere. Forever Paradise (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) was beat a neck finishing second while Rose Run Quest (Marc Campbell) was third.
Mick Dundee found room late in race 11 of the program as owner-trainer-driver Donnie MacNeill stick handled the three-year-old son of Aahm Canadian Now through homestretch traffic to score an impressive 1:55.1 win in the $2,200 class.
Prettyndangerous delivered as the favorite in the $2,250 Open Mares class with a time of 1:56.2 for co-owner and trainer Bo Ford and co-owner Arnold Myers of Charlottetown as part of a driving double for Adam Merner.
Trainer Jackie Matheson and driver Barrieau teamed up for back-to-back wins in races 8 and 9 with Woodmere Soul in 1:57.3 and Give Em Heck with a 1:56.3 clocking.
