A change of training regime has attributed to a bold second-up win by well bred three-year-old The Family Guy at the Australia Day harness racing meeting at New Norfolk yesterday.

The Family Guy faced the breeze for the entire race but when trainer-driver Brent Parish called on the gelding for the supreme effort he responded well and went on to score from Doyouseewhatisee and race leader Roslynrocket.

The Family Guy showed good potential as a two-year-old winning a race and being placed in three of his 11starts as a juvenile.

He failed to flatter at his first run back from a spell in Launceston behind the very smart Lickyalips but he showed plenty of courage at this latest outing.

The Union Guy-Anthea gelding was bred by Parish and he is hoping the three-year-old can go on with the job as the season progresses.
