Cheyenne Miriam wins $20,000 Distaff Pace

DOVER, Del. --- Cheyenne Miriam tuned up for Sunday's Matron Stake coming on to edge race-favorite Monochromatic in the $20,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap feature race on Monday, Nov. 4 at Dover Downs.

Hall of Famer-elect David Miller pulled out of fifth place on the backstretch to quickly engage Monochromatic on the final turn then battled head-to-head down the lane in a :28 final panel before sticking her nose out front for a 1:52.2 victory. It was the three-year-old Bettor's Delight-Alibecca filly's 11th win this year. Jeremes Sweetheart, handled by Ross Wolfenden was third.

Leased-by The Cheyenne Gang and trained by Robbie Siegleman, the prominent New York Sire Stakes winning sophomore has now banked $289,005 this campaign. Cheyenne Miriam returns to the track this Sunday racing in a Matron elimination.
Another three-year-old, Spend It All, romped to victory in the sub-feature $14,500 3,4&5-Year-Old distaff pace. Jim Morand guided the Tell All-Dream Card youngster to an impressive 1:53.2 score, her 12th win in 23 races this season. The victory pushes her earnings to $102,520 in this her first year racing for trainer Les Givens and owners Brooke Givens and Steve Head. Beechwood Diana (Ross Wolfenden) was runner-up with Outrageousdelight N (George Dennis) third.

David Miller, Tony Morgan, George Dennis had driving doubles.
