The Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale, the source of Group 1 winners Ima Spicey Lombo, Four Trumps, Albert Terrill, Hannah McKenzie, Willie Morris, Burrell, Kadoopy and Strong Ambition, will be held at the Bathurst Showground on Sunday, March 24, starting at 11am.

An integral part of the Alabar Bathurst Gold Crown Carnival, the sale will be conducted by leading NSW sales firm Davidson Cameron & Co Dubbo Pty Ltd.

The sale comprises 146 lots with strong drafts from many of NSW’s leading standardbred breeding nurseries, as well as vendors from Victoria and Queensland.

Over 40 stallions are represented in the 2013 catalogue, including nine first season sires headed by Million Dollar Cam (11 lots), Passmaster Hanover (7), Always A Virgin (6) and Sportswriter (6).

The sire with the biggest draft is the 2007 Breeders Crown 2YO champion Flightpath with 18 entries.

Other high-profile stallions with strong entries include dual Australian Sire of the Year Village Jasper (10 lots), Tinted Cloud (8), Jereme’s Jet (8), Modern Art (7), Badlands Hanover (5), Armbro Operative (4), Artistic Fella (4) and leading juvenile sire Art Major (3).

The outstanding catalogue includes half relations to smart performers such as Howard Ino, That’s Mister Ali, Indicative, Ballbarboy, Albert Aralar, Radical Calza (The Lombo) and Dream Runna.

Group or metropolitan winning mares with progeny in the sale include In A Whisper, Lady Titian Lombo, As It Is In Heaven, Ezy Lady, Macrandra, Ambre Solaire, Sunvale, Kyallarama Set To Shine and Ciara.

All yearlings nominated for the sale will be eligible for the Sales Graduate Races with $14,000 finals for two-year-old colts and fillies at Bathurst in February/March 2014.

They are also eligible for the Breeders Crown, NSW Breeders Challenge, NSW Breeders Bonus, Bathurst Gold Crown and Tiara, Vicbred, QLD Bred and The Lombo.
