10: 2018 Inter Dominion – Tiger Tara
It would be remiss of us not to start with a race fresh in the memory. The win of Tiger Tara in the 2018 Inter Dominion makes it into this list for a number of reasons.
Firstly, it was the first Inter Dominion back in Melbourne for more than a decade. The build-up felt organic and, for trots fans at the very least, this felt like something extra special.
That was only confirmed when Tabcorp Park Melton saw one of its biggest ever crowds turn out to finals night, which was quickly turned into a one act affair.
There was drama, however, with Mach Doro carving across the face of the field early to lead before handing over to Tiger Tara.
From there it became a time trial and, wow, did Kevin Pizzuto’s pacer put on a display for patrons on-course and those watching around Australasia.
