Harness Racing Victoria (HRV), Trots Clubs Victoria (TCV) and Paul Campbell will launch a new live streamed show tonight at 5pm across Trots Media digital channels.
Titled Thursdy for Trots, the show will cover news and views from the harness week with a large focus on the Trots Country Cups Carnival.
Hosted by Campbell and TCV’s Toby McKinnon, the show will feature interviews with clubs, trainers, drivers and other trots characters for the duration of the Country Cups season (until May next year).
Woodlands Stud has signed up as naming rights partner for the new show, which will air live on HRV’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Twitch channels, and be replayed on Instagram.
“Securing a partner like Woodlands is just fantastic and we’re really excited by this new project,” HRV Media and Communications Manager Cody Winnell said.
“Paul Campbell and Toby McKinnon will be the regular hosts. They both have knowledge and enthusiasm in spades. HRV’s Nikkita Ross will also appear on many episodes and her passion for the trots is infectious.
“Engaging video content, especially live streaming, is a big part of our media plan. The live aspect allows fans to engage directly with the hosts, so it encourages conversation. We’ve seen this with recent barrier draws and awards nights and there will be more of it.”
Campbell is looking forward to Thursdy for Trots.
“We want this to be fun, energetic and interactive. It won’t be scripted, so it’s all natural. Just us talking trots with the stars themselves – the industry participants and clubs – and promoting the greatest racing code in the land,” he said.
Appearing on episode one will be drivers Greg Sugars, Chris Svanosio and Tayla French.
