Cream Ridge, NJ – 11/7/2020 – Covid 19 once again takes a fundraising event away from helping the horses at the Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF). The Holiday Fun at the Farm – Beer and Wine Tasting is cancelled.
Judith Bokman, SRF's Director, shared, "The 2nd wave of Covid 19 is causing 120,000 new cases a day; SRF is concerned for the safety of all. It is an outdoor event, but enforcing the precautions at the farm it leases would be difficult. It's disappointing, so many people were looking forward to it, and SRF depends so much on fundraising events like this."
Donations from generous people make the most impact when it comes to getting the 376 horses fed and cared for; social fundraisers follow right behind. The loss of this last fundraiser, along with losing every one of them this year, will make it very difficult financially on the already strapped organization.
SRF asks to share this cancellation information to help reach others who were planning to attend. It thanks all who have made tremendous preparations and generous offers, the King Street Blue Grass Band, the Newark Mounted Police who have 14 of SRF's horses, the 2nd New Jersey Brigade-Civil War Re-enactment group, Zanis Furry Friends-the doggies, the Millstone Elks Club, Milton Paris and Getting Ahead in Business, the Court Jester Restaurants, Bites and Bowls Food, and the numerous volunteers who are significant in getting so much done at SRF everyday.
To help SRF with this struggle to feed the horses due to another cancellation, please make a tax-deductible gift here https://www.adoptahorse.org/donate. Thank you very much.
