If the morning line is on target it looks a wide-open race in Thursday’s (June 30) $10,900 tenth race feature for horses with claiming tags of $27,500 when Maywood Park hosts Dave Magee Night.

The 51-Year-Old Green Bay, WI native recently became the first Chicago driver, and only the sixth in worldwide harness racing history, to achieve 10,000 driving victories.

Magee will be available for an autograph signing session near track’s Dining Room entrance (2nd floor). The Thursday Maywood Park program will feature a special Dave Magee Night souvenir section, highlighted by all of his major stake victories, a two-page montage of many of his memorable driven horses, and more.

In Thursday night’s feature Hogies Cam (Mike Oosting) will open as the lukewarm 5-2 favourite from the two-post.

Roman Punch (Ron Marsh) is at 3-1 from the pole position. Recent claim Midwestern (Dave Magee) starts off at 7-2 from the three-slot, and Power An Glory A (Tony Morgan) isn’t far behind at 4-1 first flash odds despite the outside eight-slot.

ogies Cam owns at pair of victories and seconds in seven season tries the Chicago circuit’s half-miler. Roman Punch led from pole-to-pole in his May 25 Maywood Park debut and he did it leaving from the seven-slot.

Midwestern has clicked twice in his last five starts on this racetrack, while Power An Glory has a pair of victories here in four starts in 2005.

Lifetime Man (12-1, Tim Tetrick), who popped last week at 15-1 odds, Yankee Blitz (15-1, Dale Hiteman), My Names Poplar N (8-1, Andy Miller) and Legendary Stopper (15-1, Ryan Anderson) complete the field.

The New Zealand import My Names Poplar took his U.S. mark of 1.53.1 at Maywood Park in April and won again in early May just a tick slower.
