HARRINGTON, DE – Round two of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) eliminations for 3-year-old harness racing trotters wrapped up Wednesday at Harrington Raceway with one $20,000 division per sex.
In the colts and geldings division, Leigh Raymer, Stephen Moss and Stacy Johnson-Stafford's Super Fly ($2.10, Art Stafford Jr.) continued his dominance in the DSBF ranks with a 1:59.2 victory over Sky Marshal and Bosston Cruiser. It was the 8th career win for the Super Punk gelding.
In the filly division, Shirley Shand and Serendipity Stable's Star Sapphire ($13, Russell Foster) prevailed in 1:59.2 over Deja Vu Blue and Ms. Smash. The Anders Bluestone filly surged by the leader off a pocket trip for her sixth career win for trainer Tui Stone.
In the $15,000 Open Trot, Bob Shahan, Jimmy Parsons Jr. and Ashley Parsons' I Like My Boss ($10, Allan Davis) prevailed over Theresademoninme and Murmur Hanover in 1:56.3. The Don Boss Vita 7-year-old gelding registered his 37th career victory for co-owner/trainer Bob Shahan.
In the $10,000 Open II Handicap, Midsize Construction's Blownoutofthewater ($3.00, Tony Morgan) was a 1:55.4 winner over All Shoes On Deck and Royal Becca J. The Jenny Bier-trainee notched back-to-back wins.
Driver Ross Wolfenden took both halves of the daily double with Bryan Truitt's Bobbies Powerplay ($12.60) and Rich Ashley, Mark Salerno and Brent Ashley's Scotch Sour ($2.20) who improved to 2-for-2 locally for trainer Joe Hunderptfund Jr. with a 1:56.2 triumph.
Wolfenden and Art Stafford Jr. each had three wins on the program.
