Inter Dominion winning harness racing trainer Darren Hancock is heading back to North America but this time he will only be going for three weeks. Hancock took some horses with him to race when he ventured across the world previously however this time he is planning on having a holiday.

“A few of us are going to head over and have a look over there. Dad (Richard), Eddy Bidder and Henno Illstrom are all going over and I am really looking forward to going to the Harrisburg Sales,” Hancock said.

“It’s nothing more than a holiday, I am happy with how everything is ticking back here at the moment and really enjoying the racing at Menangle.”

The 2011 Harrisburg select yearling sale will take place from Monday November 7 through to Thursday November 10 at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex with 1126 yearlings consigned.

“We aren’t going over there to buy anything it is more a case of just having a look and taking in the experience so we leave on Melbourne Cup Day and will be back before the end of November.”

“While I am away I am going to turn most of my horses out for a spell but a few I have organised to be farmed out, horses like Lethal Rocket is going to Brian (Hancock) while Justa Rocket King will go to John Tapp because he has trained horses for the owner before.”

Hancock has nominated Lethal Rocket for the Brian Hancock Cup on Saturday night at Tabcorp Park Menangle but will not be on track due to a prior commitment.

“I have got a wedding to attend on Saturday night so Michael Muscat will be driving Lethal Rocket for me, Anthony Butt will come across from New Zealand to drive Raglan in the same race and Gavin Fitzpatrick will drive my trotter Mexican Invasion because he has driven it for me in the past.”
