The backstretch community at Hollywood Dayton Raceway pulled together to support a worthy cause over the last few weeks.
Over 100 new and gently used coats were donated by owners, trainers, caretakers and racing department employees to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Dayton to aid their efforts to insure that less fortunate folks have adequate warm clothing with winter rapidly approaching.
Horseman's Bookkeeper Terri Mt. Pleasant and Ohio Harness Horsemens Association track rep Brett Merkle spearheaded the worthwhile effort and were joined by a handful of drivers presenting the coats to the Society's head of volunteer services Diane Almanza in the Dayton winner's circle on Monday afternoon.
