With a new Massachusetts legislative session just getting underway this month don't be surprised if House Speaker Robert DeLeo seeks support for another casino gaming bill. DeLeo was the driving force behind the 2010 gaming bill which came within a wisker of being passed.
The stumbling block in Deleo's package was installing slots at race tracks. Governor Deval Patrick wanted at least two resort style casinos and no 'racinos/slots at race tracks.
In a televised interview with WBZ-TV's John Keller, the house speaker had another favorable outlook this time around. Especially since Governor Patrick has submitted a $30.5 billion dollar budget and Patrick, like the president is preaching Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.
DeLeo expressed confidence in the Keller interview that a favorable gaming bill could be worked out with the governor this time around with help going to the state's two racetracks with live racing meets, Plainridge Racecourse and Suffolk Downs.
