November 7, 2016 - Today’s rain and fog did not deter impressive victories by Douce Rebelle, the grand-dame of monte trots Scarlet Turgot and Dijon. The race summaries follow for these superb harness racing events.

Today’s Gr. II Prix Reine du Corta (purse €120,000, 2175 meters, 12 three year old fillies) at Paris-Vincennes went to 3.6/1 Douce Rebelle (3f Sam Bourbon-Rebelle) clocked in 1.14.8kr. Legendary owner/driver Jean-Pierre Dubois teamed this Yves Boireau trainee that was bred in Italy at Dubois’ Scuderia Bolgheri Srl. Douce Rebelle now has eight wins in 18 starts for earnings of €225,900. 6.2/1 Delia du Pommereux (3f Niky-Noure du Pommereux) was second for Franck Nivard and trainer Sylvain Roger. Heavily favored at 9/10 odds was third finishing Dawana (3f Ready Cash-Sanawa) that Gabriel Gelormini teamed for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. Fourth was 32/1 Don’t Explain (3f Prodigious-Quarmen du Qite) for breeder/owner/trainer Allaire ans driver Matthieu Abrivard.

The Prix de Lesparre (purse €85,000, 2700 meters, 15 starters) contested this day in rain and fog went to the 0.5/1 favorite Carat Williams (4m Prodigious-Miss Williams) clocked in 1.14kr for David Thomain and trainer Sebastian Guarato, racing barefoot. 40//1 Currency (4f Orlando Vici-Precious Of Fee) was next for driver Franck Nivard and trainer Souloy with third to 13/1 Bad Boy du Dollar (5m Magnificent Rodney-Nymphe du Dollar) took third for trainer/driver Sylvain Roger.

The grande monte mare Scarlet Turgot (10f Dahir de Prelong-Noella de Massy) at 9/10 odds took the Gr. II Prix Reynolds (purse €120,000, 2175 meters, 13 monte starters) timed in 1.12.6kr (mile rate 1:56.81) with a front-end score for Alexandre Abrivard, trainer Y-A Briand and owner Mme. Th. Hoste. Christian Hoste bred the 22 time career winner from 90 starts, now for earnings of €1,376,250. 8/1 Tornade de Digeon (9f Jag de Bellouet-Halana du Torme) was second for Eric Raffin and 44/1 Ugo On Wood (8g Nuage Noir-Madone On Wood) finished third for Leo Abrivard and trainer L.Cl. Abrivard. 3.3/1 Attentionally was fourth for jockey David Thomain.

The Quinte+ Prix d’Arcachon (purse €82,000, 2100 meters autostart, 15 European starters) went to 4.2/1 Arazi Boko (9g Varenne-Laura Kemp) for driver Eric Raffin, trainer Fabrice Souloy and owner Ecurie Pirat of Sweden. The winner was timed in 1.12.5kr. Two stablemates were second and third. 12.2/1 Up The Green (8m Espeyrac Sun-Nemerine) was second for Franck Nivard and owner Jean Louis Colombier and third was 27.4/1 Nuage en Ciel (9m Daguet Rapide-Pretty Perle) with Pippo Gubellini driving for owner Scuderia Fast Horse Srl of Italy.

The Gr. II Prix Abel Bassigay (purse €120,000, 2175 meters, seven three year old colts) went to 1.14.1kr timed and 6.7/1 odds Dijon (3m Ganymede-Sonate d’Aunou) for trainer/driver Romain Derieux and owner Mme. Mauricette De Sousa). Heavily favored 1/10 odds Django Riff (3m Ready Cash-Rasta Perrine) went down to defeat with Yoann Lebourgeois up for trainer Philippe Allaire and breeder/owner Elisabeth Allaire. 23.2/1 Diablo du Noyer (3m Jasmin de Flore-Une Et Indivisible) rallied for third with trainer William Bigeon driving.
