The Aldebaran Park National Monte Series race is going right to the wire as the riders chase the grand first prize of a trip to Scandinavia courtesy of Aldebaran Park.

With just two races to go, Haley Toulmin leads the way on 23 points, one point clear of Daryl Douglas after he finished third on Motu Young Jacob at Kilmore on Saturday night.

Saturday’s race, the Ron Hocking Memorial Monte, was won by Sonofanearl for Brent Lilley and Riina Maattanen in a stunning exhibition of trotting under saddle.

The next Monte will be held on Saturday, June 7, at Bendigo, with the series culminating at Kilmore on Saturday, June 21.
