Premier reinsman Daryl Douglas today had his appeal against a six week driving suspension dismissed by Victoria's Independent Appeals Panel. Douglas was outed by Harness Racing Victoria stewards at Ballarat on August 22 for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible finishing position aboard The Caribbean Kid who was held up finishing fifth.

As Douglas did not originally seek a stay of proceedings his penalty commenced on August 25 meaning he will be free to resume driving on October 6.
