Dover, Del--- Spend It All, the only three-year-old in the $20,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap pace, beat the older horses for one of four winners for driver Jim Morand and trainer Les Givens at Dover Downs on Monday, Dec. 9.

Jeremes Sweetheart left quickly with Ron Pierce and set the early fractions but Spend It All was best in the stretch for a 1:52.2 victory in the week's top distaff event. Jeremes Sweetheart held on for second with longshot Eighthunrdolarbill third for Chris Page.

An 11-1 shot Winbak Speed turned in a 1:53.3 surprise in the $15,000 sub-feature for 3,4&5-year-olds with Allan Davis chalking up his second win on the program. Wayne Givens conditions the Riverboat King-Speedy Towner chestnut for Bay Pond Racing. Air Miles Hanover (Vic Kirby) was runner-up in front of Valerya (Art Stafford Jr.).

Driver Morand and Trainer Les Givens teamed up for a two-year-old filly winner Queens Destiny in the 1st, Get The Look in the 8th, Spend It All in the 10th and Mach Lady in the 12th. Two of the winners are owned by Nanticoke Racing.

Montrell Teague and Allan Davis had driving doubles.

Monday through Thursday racing begins at 4:30 p.m. There is no live racing on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m.


DOVER, Del. --- Cactus Billy, fresh from a second-place finish in his first local start last week, is the one to beat in the $20,000 3&4-Year-Old Claiming pace on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Dover Downs.

G.A. Wilfong, R.S. Van Horn and Legacy Racing Of DE own the three-year-old Cactus Bill, who will be driven by Allan Davis. Bill Emmons’ Bags Of Money, a Delaware-sired sophomore is teamed with Vic Kirby while Leo Lomangino and Lomangino Standardbreds’ On Eagles Wings makes his Dover debut after racing at Yonkers.

The rest of the field includes Michial and Linda English and trainer John Wilkerson’s Joe Rocks with Corey Callahan at the controls. Tina Clark’s Jingle Bell Rocker will be driven by Mike Rossi. The Onlyest One, owned by Freida Ivory and Ken Mitchell, is piloted by George Dennis. Freddy Darby’s Terror On My Side drew the rail with Jonathan Roberts. Leaving from post 8 is Bob Davidson and Bill Cox’s Skyway Shooter reined by Roger Plante.

The sub-feature is a $15,000 Male Claiming Allowance led by Legacy Racing Of DE’s Jakes Spur (Ross Wolfenden), Frank Milby’s Gold Comet (Chris Page) and Jay Baxter’s Chester Fitch (Allan Davis).
