DOVER, Del. --- Nova Artist won the $27,500 Delaware Special with a convincing 1:49.2 triumph, the fastest clocking, on a fast Thursday, Nov. 14 card at Dover Downs. Valentino won a $15,000 Male Winners-Over pace in 1:49.4

On the heels of a come-from-behind 1:51.2 victory last week, Nova Artist, reined by Allan Davis, took the lead after a:26.2 opening quarter and then was never challenged winning for the eighth time this year. Mustang Art, with Ron Pierce, finished second with Eagle All and Ross Wolfenden third. Nova Artist brings his seasonal earnings to $149,850 for owners Eddie and Kathy Davis. The Real Artist-Avon Lady six-year-old has won 30 times banked $752,167 lifetime.

In the first of three $15,000 Male Winners-Over paces, driver Matt Kakaley and trainer Nick Surick teamed up for a 1:49.4 victory as KDM Stable's Valantino, a brown six-year-old by Rocknroll Hanover-Schoolofcardknocks horse won for the third time in eight races this season. Adventure Bound (Ron Pierce) raced gamely and finished second. Once escaping from being locked in, Rock On Moe (Allan Davis) closed to be third.

Harry von Knoblaugh's Texican N made his first local start a success as Tim Tetrick drove the recent Bettor's Delight-Bury My Heart import trained by Pete Tritton to an impressive 1:50.4 win in another $15,000 Male Winners-Over paces. Wahine (Jim Morand) saw a two-race win streak end in a second place finish. Jeremes General (Allan Davis) was third.

The third $15,000 event went to Stacie Billings' SB Mikes Hot Beach teamed with driver Mike Rossi. The Magical Mike-One Hot Beach five-year-old registered a new lifetime mark of 1:52.2. Sir Globalop Z Tam (Eddie Davis Jr.) was second. Rock N' Roll Jet (Bret Brittingham) and Lollipop Kid (George Dennis) dead-heated for third.

Tetrick also drove Panfully Cool to victory in 1:52 to win a $25,000-$30,000 Male Claiming Allowance. JoAnn King and Tom Kemp own The Panderosa-Bell Bottom Pans gelding conditioned by Jim King. Esprit De Kaky Jay A (Matt Kakaley) and Grab The Fortune (Vic Kirby) were second and third respectively.

There is no live harness is dark on Friday and Saturday. Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m. Dover Downs racing starts at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
