Harness racing driver Daryl Bier is off to the best start in his career. In short order, he has built an outstanding 'Six-Pack of Bier pacers' and now there is trotter to make it a 'Lucky Seven.'

The big six pacers are Fools Gold, Wam Bam Sam, Special T Rocks, Roy Orbisong, a recent high-price acquisition Divulge, to go along with exceptional pacing mare, Higher And Higher. Bier and his partners have just added the top trotter racing south of Dover Downs, Keystone Thomas, a dominant force in Pompano Park features. Now It’s a Bier Six-Pack plus one.

It was a Dover Downs rarity, five drivers accounted for 15 of 16 winning drivers (because of a dead-heat for win, in a 15-race program) last Monday. Tim Tetrick had five winners, Ross Wolfenden, Corey Callahan, Ron Pierce, Allan Davis and Jim Morand, each won two. The only other win came when Toby Lynch drove 31-1 Sunshine Superman to victory.

Heather Moffett latest money-making charity is ‘Polar Mare Plunge.’ This is a benefit for Ken Wood’s ‘Wells For Ghana,’ project. From her many ‘off beat’ efforts to raise money for charities, she describes this as her craziest yet, “The Polar Mare Plunge.” Next Friday, March 9, she and good friend Susan Ehlers, will jump into a freezing horse pond on her family farm in Harrington, Del. The goal is to raise $5,000 for Wells For Ghana headed by horseman Ken Wood, which digs wells to bring fresh water, to Ghana and now Tanzania, in West Africa. To make a pledge, visit Moffett’s website at heathermoffettonline.com Click on her ‘Charity’ page for more information. Moffett stresses that, ‘ no donation is too small and every donation is appreciated.’ The “Polar Mare Plunge” will be videotaped and posted on Moffett’s website. The website also features an exceptional video of Ken Wood being interviewed by Jane Pauley for ‘The Today Show.’ The video shows how Wood’s harness horses are helping to fund his calling. Moffett says,” Kenny is nothing short of a super hero, but even super heroes can use a little help.”
