Charlottetown, PE – Well known Veterinarian and harness racing trainer Dr. Ian Moore will be a featured speaker at the 2020 PEI Horse Breeders Conference which will be held this weekend, March 6 and 7th at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Dr. Moore will speak Friday Evening on Yearling Preparation and What Buyers Want, and at Noon Saturday on Industry Trends in Breeding Yearlings.
The conference starts Friday evening at 7 p.m. and in addition to Dr. Moore's presentation will feature a Trainers Panel with Earl Smith, Kenny Arsenault , and Kevin MacLean. A social hour will conclude the evening at Turf's Bar & Grill at Red Shores.
Saturday will start at 10:30 a.m. and is themed "The Mare and Foal, From Conceiving to Weaning". The days' activities will kick off with a Breeders Panel of Donnie MacNeil, Bobby Gordon, and Doug MacPhee. In addition to Dr. Moore's noon time presentation fellow veterinarians Dr. Ben Stoughton , Dr. Mary McNevin, and Dr. Martha Mellish will do presentations on topics ranging from DeWorming Principles, Nutrition on Your Breeding Farm, Getting Your Mare Pregnant , Preparing For Foaling, and the First Twenty Four Hours of your Foals Life.
