The Dunstan Speed Series has been completed and what a great series it was, with plenty of excitement, controversy and great racing.

With the abandonment of the second heat of the Dunstan Trotters Speed Series the final got underway with the completion of heat one only, but it was a very close final. Too close in fact with a 'dead heat' being announced - "Be Seein Ya", driven by Todd MacFarlane and trained by David and Claire McGowan shared the win with "Continental Auto" driven and trained by Todd Mitchell.

The Pacers final was always going to be keenly watched, with an impressive performance from "Pepper Pots", trained by Steve Telfer and Chris Garlick and driven by Scott Phelan in the first heat. Then an outstanding run from "Lincolns Megastar", trained by Ray Green and driven by Maurice McKendry in the second heat ensured it would be a hotly contested final. The final however went the way of "Saharazona", with elated connections joining the Dunstan Sponsors after the race.

The team at Dunstan are very proud to sponsor the Series and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting with the connections of the wonderful horses that have featured throughout. Dunstan would like to extend a big "thank you" to the team at Alexandra Park, and to David Branch in particular for his contribution to the Dunstan Speed Series.

Dunstan would also like to acknowledge the great support shown to them by Owners, Breeders and Trainers within the Harness Sector, and in return are committed to continuing to support their Industry.
