In leg 61 of The Pen vs. The Chip Handicapping Challenge sponsored by the Hambletonian Society, Meadowlands, Tioga Downs, and Vernon Downs at Woodbine Racetrack this past Saturday (10/20), Earl the Pearl took top harness racing honors for the evening with a Win ROI of 1.871, grossing $44.90.

Overall leader Mark McKelvie finished second with a rating of 1.442 ($34.60) while Bobby Z earned show honors with a 1.317 ROI ($31.60).

With respect to the un-official Exacta Key challenge, Mark McKelvie's three exacta selections earned him the evening's honors with a ROI of 4.041, grossing $177.80, easily outdistancing his competitors for the evening.

Place honors went to Scott Alberg who earned an ROI of 1.412 ($59.30). Completing the top three was Bobby Z with a 0.834 rating ($36.70).

The Pen vs. The Chip Handicapping Challenge comes to a conclusion this weekend with the final contest leg taking place Saturday evening (10/27) with the Breeders Crown Finals at Woodbine Racetrack. However, before the contest wraps up on Saturday evening, The Pen vs. The Chip makes one last visit to Vernon Downs on Friday night as the $206,000 Kindergarten Classic Final for 2yo trotting colts and a $202,500 final for 2yo filly trotters will be contested at the Southern-Tier track.
