After being shutout last week from winning a race on the June 12 Plainridge harness racing program, Mike Eaton made up for it with four winning drives on Thursdays Flag Day card.
Eaton, a Plainridge regular who has been constantly among the top five drivers at the 'Ridge' finished the week with six trips to the winners circle.
His four bagger gives him 24 on the young season and he trails Jim Hardy (33) and Steve Nelson (29) as the race for the driving title surges on.
His Flag Day performance also moved him into a three-way tie for top training honors, trailing John Nason by one. Hardy, Wallace Watson and Don Gaudette Jr. are the other reinsmen giving chase.
The resident of Cumberland, R.I. also sports a track leading UDR of .364 compiled from 130 starts, 24 wins, 27 seconds and 25 thirds.
Hardy gained the week's best performance honors when he drove Michael Feinberg's Champs Folly to a swift 1:54 mile on June 11.He returned $43.60 for a two-dollar wager.
Fast times, a break in the weather, and much of the crowd watching the races outside all await starter Richard Flanders call to post at 4 p.m. (Est.) today (June 18).
