Electric Lad paces home for his 50th career win Wednesday at Northfield Park

Electric Lad paced home for his 50th career victory, winning the 6th race at Northfield Park on Wednesday (August 1). The 13 year-old veteran, with 346 career starts, also has 51 seconds and 44 third place finishes.

Electric Lad (Electric Yankee-Figmental-Precious Bunny) has career earnings of $436,459 with a lifetime mark of 1:51.2 at Hoosier Park at age nine. The pacer's richest win was for a purse of $19,300 in a claiming race at Hoosier Park in 2013. Electric Lad is a well-traveled campaigner -- his 50 wins have been spread across 11 different racing surfaces.

Electric Lad started from post-4 and led his competition at every call through fraction of :27.1, :56.3, 1:25 and 1:54.1, besting his competition by a 1 ¼-lengths. He was the race favorite and returned $4.60 to win.

Ryan Bellamy of Anderson, Indiana owns and trains Electric Lad. Aaron Merriman was aboard for the winning drive.
