Eleven of the classiest mares racing in Canada and United States have drawn into two very deep elimination races for Flamboro Downs, mares, signature stakes race, "The Ellamony" this Saturday June 12th.

Harness racing fans in Ontario, are sure to get their moneys worth and more out of these power packed races.

Ellamony, the stake race name sake, was a dynamic mare inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame in 1998. She dominated the fillies and mares ranks during her illustrious career which saw her win 53 races and amass 1.4 million in earnings. As a 3 yr old Ellamony won the Mistletoe Shalee Pace, the Miss New Jersey Classic, Historic Lady, Tarport Hap Pace, the Nadia Lobell and numerous New Jersey Sires events.

The rugged and versatile daughter of the legendary Cam Fella was voted Three-Year Old Pacing Filly of the year in 1993. Ellamony was bred and owned through out her entire racing career by Mr. Charles Juravinksi of Dundas Ontario.

Juravinksi, the auspicious and charismatic racetrack owner sadly had his dreams of mating Ellamony with Matts Scooter shattered in 1996 after Ellamony underwent ankle surgery. Infection developed and after several radical procedures to correct the problem, failed, her life was humanely destroyed.

Saturday afternoon the iron tough 6 yr old Camluck mare Dreamfair Eternal has drawn into the firstelimination raceof The Ellamony and looks to be the one to beat in the $20,000. affair. She's drawn the outside five hole on the gate and lines up beside the John Pentland trained F&M-Open specialist To Helen Back, who sports a speed badge of 1:49.4 taken as a 3 yr old, along with 1.2 million in the bank for her owners Mike and Ann Shunock of Dorchester Ontario.

Dreamfair Eternal is fresh off a 1:49.1 romp in the Artiscape Pace at Tioga, were she blew away Chancey Lady and Shanghai Lil to collect the biggest share of the $160,000. purse and will know doubt be looking to pad her already bulging seasons bank account shoving it past the 150k mark with a win in her Ellamony elimination, securing a good starting position in next weeks lucrative $100,000. added final.

A win for Dreamfair Eternal in her elimination and final would push her lifetime earnings to within 28 thousand dollars of the magical one million dollar mark for trainer Pat Fletcher and owner John Lamers of Ingersoll, Ontario.

Forever Ivy, A PS Money Maker and Windsong Filou finish out the field from post positions 1, 2, 3.

In the second division Ron Burk ships up from the States with US invader Ginger and Fred. A wicked fast money making, Real Artist mare who has already compiled $209,000. in 13 season starts this year. She starts from the outside six hole in her $20,000 elimination race.

Although Ginger And Fred, raced rather flat in the Artiscape Paceshe was burdened with the dreaded eight hole start position and found herself well off the pace by the half mile station in 53.2 andin a world of trouble when the race ended up going in a quick 1:49.4.

With Mark MacDonald at the controls, in The Ellamony, she'll more than likely be forwardly placed in the early going of this race and with a change in racing strategy she should be able to pick up a good piece of the action. Look for her, Voelz Hanover and Arts Diva to be slugging it out down the short Flamboro stretch.

Special Sweetheart, Four Starzz Meliss and Racing Star round out the field for the second and last elimination. Post time is set for 1:00 pm. June 12-2010.
