J&M Racing's Embassy Seelster ($4.20, Dan Rawlings) was a hard driven winner in the $16,000 Mares Open Tuesday at the harness racing meeting at Harrington Raceway in 1:53.3.

The 5-year-old Modern Art mare grinded away first-over under heavy urging from Rawlings in the stretch before finally getting the lead in the final strides to prevail narrowly over pacesetter I'm Won Rum Wiser and Bo Tox Hanover.

Trained by Doug Lewis, Embassy Seelster recorded her seventh win of the year and successfully defended her turf as the current aged mare track record holder (1:51.3).

She was returning to the races after a brief layoff and two qualifying races.

Allan Davis drove four winners, while Rawlings had three. George Dennis had a double.
