HARRINGTON, DE – Andrew Glassmeyer's Embrace The Grind ($2.80, Jon Roberts) was the fastest of three Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) elimination winners for 2-year-old trotters Wednesday at Harrington Raceway with a 2:00.2 triumph.
The Keystone Activator gelding headed the first division for male trotters with a commanding front-end romp over Just As Striking and Say Gesundheit. Trained by Glassmeyer, the freshman is 2-for-2 in his career.
In the remaining division for male trotters, Mike and Linda English's Phantom Feet ($6, Ross Wolfenden) triumphed over Go Jetem and Dr Grinch in 2:04.3. Trained by John Wilkeson, the He's Spooky gelding led from start to finish in first career start.
The lone filly division went to Sarah and John Swart Jr.'s Royal Locket ($14.40, Corey Callahan), who prevailed in wire-to-wire fashion in 2:04.4 over Dark Dutchess and She's Spooky. A daughter of Yankee Royalty, "Royal" notched her first career victory for trainer Nick Callahan.
In the $11,000 overnight feature, the Open II Trot, Rosemary Smutz's Man Of Muscle ($10, Art Stafford Jr.) was a 1:57.2 winner over Donnie Darko and Sunset Mike.
Mike Cole had four wins on the card. Victor Kirby won three.
