Leviathan Sydney harness racing breeder, owner and benefactor Emilio Rosati's love affair with the stock of USA premier sire Rocknroll Hanover continued at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale in Kentucky last week.

Rosati, whose horses carry the 'Stride' moniker, shelled out $300,000 for the Rocknroll Hanover colt Rock The Casbah, the top priced yearling pacing colt at the sale, during the opening session. Catalogued as Lot 43, the colt ranks as a full brother to the world's fastest ever racemare Put On A Show 1:47.8 ($2.3-million), being out of millionaire Artsplace mare Stienam's Place.

Rock The Casbah was one of five Rocknroll Hanover colts to fetch $100,000 or more at the sale's opening night.

The others were Rock N Delight, a colt out of former 3YO Filly of the Year Darlin's Delight ($2.9-million), was sold for $230,000; Cyber Attack (ex the Artsplace mare Arterra) sold for $150,000; Readington, a colt from the mare Dolphins Can Talk (Camluck-Stienam's Place) realised $135,000 and Winning Design (ex Artistic Vision, by Artsplace) $120,000.

Rosati, who was the underbidder on the Metro Pace winning Rocknroll colt Simply Business ($815,000) at the 2010 sale, also bought a trotting filly,Mother Night (Cantab Hall-Lunar Dream Om), for $280,000 at Lexington.

Rosati is planning to breed four mares to Rocknroll Hanover, who is standing 'Down Under' at Empire Stallions in Avenel, Victoria, this season.
