Horsemen are reminded that entries for the fifth annual Super Stakes Sunday harness racing card at Harrah's Philadelphia will be taken until Wednesday, August 15. The box closes at 9:00 a.m for the blockbuster card, which will take to the track on Sunday, August 19 at 1:30 p.m.
The Super Stakes Sunday program, in addition to the co-featured $500,000 Battle of the Brandywine (3-year-old pace), $500,000 Colonial (3-year-old trot), and $350,000 Valley Forge (3-year-old filly pace) and their respective consolations, will feature the $150,000 Maxie Lee Memorial Invitational Trot and the $150,000 PHHA Invitational Pace.
A trio of $75,000 PHHA Open events round out the card, with races written for three-year-old pacers and trotters, and for two-year-old pacers. Pennsylvania-bred horses will be preferred in these events, followed by Pennsylvania-owned horses and then all others.
Horsemen should note that all races with purses of at least $100,000 will be raced out of a six-hour detention.
Any owners or trainers that would like clubhouse reservations for Super Stakes Sunday are advised to contact the PHHA at 610-874-5200 no later than Thursday, August 16 by 5:00 p.m.
