Tomorrow night’s Gyro Youthful Stakes at Tabcorp Park Melton sees exciting harness racing filly Eliza Dushku get her second opportunity to push for a potential New Zealand Harness Jewels invitation.

The bay daughter of Bettor's Delight slayed her opposition in last weekend’s Group 2 Pink Bonnet at Menangle with an impressive 14.4m win in 1:55.7.

“Her trials had been really good and she’d always showed a lot at home. We’re pretty excited,” trainer Amanda Turnbull said.

“In a two-year-old race you’re never quite sure what the others are capable of, but she had shown us a fair bit.”

Eliza Dushku was purchased from New Zealand and is not eligible for any of the Australian futurities.

“She’s paid up for nothing over here,” Turnbull said.

“So we’ll probably go for a spell after (tomorrow night) anyway."

Asked if The Jewels could be an option should an invite be forthcoming, Turnbull replied: "If she’s still going good enough (it'd be an option)."

Eliza Dushku will come out of gate nine tomorrow night.

Burrumbeet trainer Michael Stanley takes a two-pronged attack into the Youthful Stakes with Soho Savannah and Soho Angel drawn alongside each other in two and three, while Geoff Webster’s Shadyshark Hanover filly Graphics was an impressive debut winner at Maryborough and will begin from barrier 10.
