Fox Valley Flan, the Illinois divisional filly trotting champion as a 2 and 3-Year-Old has been retired and will become a broodmare.

Trained by Ervin Miller for owner Tanah Merah Farms LLC of Springfield, Illinois, the Vaporize mare out of Yankee Salsa, she by Speedy Crown, leaves the racing wars at the age of four with earnings of $495,133, and a lifetime mark of 1:53.3 taken this year.

Bred by Fox Valley Standardbreds of Sherman, Illinois, Flan dominated the Illinois female trotting ranks in 2003 and 2004.

As a 2-Year-Old she made eight trips to the winners circle in eleven starts, finishing worse than third only once. She ended her freshman season with a mark of 1:56.2 and a bankroll of over $156,000.00. As a sophomore she won twelve of fifteen starts and again finished worse than third only once. She ended that campaign with earnings of over $264,000 and a mark of 1:54.4.

Miller stated that she will winter in Missouri while a decision is made on what sire she will be bred to.
