Tuesday, June 28, 2016 COLUMBUS,MN- The Tuesday night Harness Racing card at Running Aces featured the debut of 2 year olds in the Minnesota-Sired program, and Zachariahs Honor ($4.80), a colt by Hot Pans established a track mark of 1:59 in the opening $7,000 race for Owner/Trainer/Driver Royal Roland, also owned by Barbara Roland.
The good looking colt was sharp off the gate and lead at every call, bravely holding off a furious charge from pocket-sitter DeweyDidDoneGood (Dean Magee). In The $14,000 2 year old Trot, it was Silent Dreams (by Money Talks), the lone filly in the field who prevailed over the boys in 2:08 after very soft fractions of 33.1, 1:06.2 and 1:37.4 she trotted home in 30.1 and paid $3.60 to win.
She is owned by Glen and Jodi Wilson, Trained by Brett Ballinger, and was driven to victory by Dean Magee The second $7,000 division of 2 year old Pacers went to Okee Dokee (by Voracious Hanover) in 1:59.3 for Driver Rick Magee, who set his gelding up with a perfect pocket ride, and drew away in the home-stretch for Trainer David Flynn and Owners The Van Oterloo Stables, he paid $7.80
The $11,000 Fillies & Mares Open saw the east coast invader Carlota Blue Chip with Tim Maier aboard setting all the early pace in 28.0, 57.4 and 1:26.1, while Flick A Fly (Rick Magee) benefitted from the pocket trip to charge home as the winner for the second straight week, by a length in 1:54.3.
Race favorite Party Hangover Two (Steve Wiseman) came surging late, finishing 2nd, while pace-setter Carlota Blue Chip held third. Flick a Fly is owned by The Van Oterloo Stables, and Trained by David Flynn, together they had a huge night, Winning 3 races, (also winning with GravelsInmyTravel in a 1:52.3 lifetime mark with Steve Wiseman driving, who paid $6.00). Drivers Rick Magee and James (ChipĀ) Lackey both had driving doubles on the Tuesday program.
