CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Dusty Lane Titan will attempt to stretch his win streak to three wins as the two-year-old trotters face off in the Blair Andrew Memorial stake Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 13-dash program kicks off at 6:30 P.M. with a pair of $10,000 Andrew Memorial divisions form rookie trotters. Dusty Lane Titan is favoured in the race 3 split for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owner Grayland Farm of Pugwash, N.S.
The son of Tad The Stud was a winner in his last two outings with Campbell at the controls and will look to replicate that effort from post 3 this week. Jareds Courage was the runner-up to Dusty Lane Titan in their last start but is saddled with post 6 this week with Gilles Barrieau at the lines for trainer Tom Weatherbie.
Windemerebarrister is installed as second favourite in the rich division from post 4 for trainer Alan McNeil with Walter Cheverie picking up the catch drive this week.
The other $10,000 Andrew division opens up the program in race 1 as Little Miss Winnie puts her record of not missing the board in his career to the test. Barrieau gets the drive for trainer Ralph Annear and owner Steven Sorrie with the Tad The Stud filly fresh off a 2:03.4 victory.
Northside Downs track record holder Dusty Lane Mavis gets the outside in the compact field of five for trainer-driver Gary Chappell while Now Look At Here (Driven by Brian MacPhee) gets rail control.
Freddie gets top billing in the race 10 Open Trot for a $1,950 purse. Campbell trains and drives the 43 time winner from post 6 this week as he faces five foes. Other top entries include Majian Tango (Jim Ripley) and Professor Gordon (Jason Hughes).
