Freehold, NJ --- A field of seven filly and mare harness racing pacers has been assembled for the featured race on Friday afternoon (March 6) at Freehold Raceway, the Fillies & Mares Preferred Handicap. It's scheduled as the 6th race, with a post time of 2:10 PM EST.

Faithful Desire, from the barn of Robert Bongiorno, is the likely favorite. She won a NW $15,000 pace at Yonkers Raceway back on February 14, pacing the mile in a sharp 1:54.4. She finished fourth and fifth in her two most recent tries at the level. This will mark her first start at Freehold since January 19, when she won this class. Joe Bongiorno will drive.

When Sharks Fly, from post position six, figures to be the most formidable opponent. She won two races in a row earlier in the meet, and was most recently second in a NW $6,000 pace back on February 28. Jim Marshall III will drive for trainer Donna Marshall.

Fear My Shadow, Last Flight In, Askmysecretary, Sue's Night Out, and Bronskimackenzie complete the septet. The latter two have also won at Freehold this year, and will seek to bounce back off seventh and sixth-place finishes, respectively, behind When Sharks Fly last out.

The first of ten races at Freehold on Friday will be at 12:30 PM EST.
