CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – After disposing of her harness racing foes in her latest outing, Falls Creek will look for lifetime win number 25 in the Thursday night featured pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 12-dash Thursday program kicks off at 6 P.M. with the $2,200 featured fillies and mares pace lining up in race 11. Falls Creek is the morning line favourite from post 4 with leading driver Marc Campbell at the controls for trainer Bo Ford and owner Arnold Myers of Charlottetown.
The five-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover sits at 24 wins from 74 lifetime starts. Collective Wisdom is second choice from the outside post 6 for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Ron Matheson after finishing fifth against the boys her last start.
Race analyst Les MacIsaac sides with Falls Creek for the top spot. "Falls Creek came first up at the half last time and despite being uncovered the rest of the way, she still won and in the fastest time on the page this year to boot," MacIsaac said. "Off that performance we'll look for her to double up."
Also in the field are Paythelinebluechip (To be driven by Steven Shepherd), Julep Hanover (Wade Myers), Sophist (David Dowling) and Killean Finale (Ken Murphy). The top trot carries a $2,500 purse in race 10. Majian Tango drew post 6 as the top choice for trainer-driver Jim Ripley of Amherst, N.S., with top entries Glider Man (Kenny Arsenault) and Freddie (Campbell) drawing outside of him. Pop I makes his East Coast debut from post 5 for trainer-driver Gordie Hennessey after shipping in from New York.
