Shadyshark Hanover, the fastest three-year-old in North America in 2011, was credited with his first winner from his initial Australian crop when the harness racing two-year-old filly Graphics emerged successful at Maryborough on Thursday (February 18).
Making her debut, the filly was taken off the mobile from her wide barrier draw and settled down at the tail of the seven-horse field.
Biding her time until the home turn, Graphics rounded up her rivals in the space of 150 metres to score by almost two lengths.
She rated 2:00.3 for the 1690 metres with the last 800 in 59.1
Bred by Bruce and Vicki Edward, the baldy faced chestnut is out of an Artiscape mare, Illustrator, the dam of earlier winners in Yankee Strutter 1:57.7 (8 wins to date) and In A Rose Tattoo.
Graphics is raced by the Ballarat & District Trotting Club Standardbred Group.
Shadyshark Hanover is also the sire of Shady Secret, an unlucky second on debut, and several qualifiers.
