While some 2-year-olds have qualified at other tracks in North America, Rosecroft is going to be one of the first to have baby races this year, when the harness racing track hosts a pair on Saturday night (May 19).

It has been really tough on Maryland horsemen the last few years with all of the uncertainty surrounding Maryland racing. We just wanted to help out those that are racing here and have some babies that are ready to go.

Long-time leading Maryland trainer Roger Hans will send Firecracker Freddy to the gate in the second race and this one is a son of red-hot sire Cam's Rocket out of a Glowing Tribute mare. He will face trainer Jerry Nock's Janet's Fortune who is a daughter of Cams Fortune by a Stand Forever mare.

In the opener, trainers Leon Harris and Chris Offutt will be quite busy as each of them entered a filly and colt trotter. Leon Harris's filly is Beep Beep Bye Bye, sired by Like A Prayer out of a Garland Lobell mare. The Harris' trained colt is Thorpe sired by Master Glide out of a Vision's Pride mare.

Chris Offutt sends out Photosavvy, a Classic Photo daughter out of a Donerail mare and Broadway Stepup, sired by Broadway Hall and out of a Giant Victory mare.

The post times for these races are 7 and 7:10 p.m., with the regular card getting underway at 7:25 p.m.
